Finished Layout!

Here is my finished Aztec Layout Pan. I'm quite happy with how it turned out, and I understand that I still have a long way to go with digital painting. I wish to improve more on it, and this summer will be an intensive learning curve for me.

  2. oooooohhhhh awesome job! it looks really good.

i don't get this blog i guess i can't edit my own post so i'm typing this AGAIN. -_-

Couple things to mention in terms of critiquing. (take it or leave it lol)
Your focal point, the orange building at the back needs to shift slightly to left. It's working fine as is but we usually look at things from the left and it was a tad too long of a travel to fine the focal point to rest on.
You have a very nice warm colour palette going here. But the dark blue seems left out in the group. If you use the blue in other parts of the painting it'll tie in better (like how you used the red throughout your piece) perhaps blue tint in the sky?
Lastly when your doing the shadows (which is done very nicely once again) instead of using darker colour of the object, try using cooler shade of it. Warm vs cool will give an instant zest to your work.
